Recommendations and Inspirations

If you like my type of writing, you may enjoy these sites more. I've read plenty of works by hobbyist writers and the following sites host some my favorites. Many of these have inspired me to take a crack at writing myself.

» Metamor Keep
Metamor isn't for everyone, mind you. But if it is, then watch out. Once it draws you in, there is no escape! This is a magic-filled medieval fantasy setting that has been built upon by a small handful of dedicated authors for over ten years.
» Raven's Layer
In addition to being a major contributor to Metamor and other story universes, Raven hosts a small collection of favorite stories here. Almost all of them are fantastic reads and I would highly recommend giving them a perusing.
» The Homepage of Sly Rabbit
Sly is an amazing author. I haven't read all of his work yet, but what I have has touched me deeply. There is a sense of never forgetting one's childhood prevalent in many of his works, and he vividly blends fantasy with the real world to tackle complex, provocative issues. Highly recommended.
» Michael Bard's Story (and other) Page
Definitely my favorite science fiction writer. Granted, I'm not a sci-fi fan and I won't read anything that doesn't involve talking animals of some sort. But seriously, this guy knows how to write stories about horses in space and make them pure awesome. He writes the occasional fantasy tale as well, which is just icing on the cake.
» Alliance Command
I have no idea what in blazes a nacelle is or what warp 5 means, but heck, Rich doesn't have a bad set of stories here at all. Worth a look!
» The Transformation Story Archive
There are some fantastic stories buried deep within the TSA. There are some rather lame and/or lewd ones as well, so be warned. Although the site is no longer updated, the mailing list is quite active and I often post my stories there before adding them to my site.
» Shifti
A successor to the above site of sorts. Another great place for transformation-themed literature with the added niftiness of being able to upload stories yourself! Now if only they'd get rid of that generic Wikipedia look...
» Anthrofiction Network
This site is just plain cool. ScottyDM hosts a short story contest four times per year. Site visitors judge the entries in various categories by filling out forms, and the winner is announced at the end of the judging period. Fun! I've entered a couple of times and hope to enter again in the future.

Other Sites

» Xepher.net
"Free Hosting for Free Thinkers." I apparently think freely, as my site is being hosted for free. The only catch is the box on my front page. Not a bad deal!
» Art by Tod
I commission pencil sketches for Crimson Flag from this guy. He's fast, professional, and courteous. I highly recommend Tod for any and all of your artwork needs. He also has a comic in which he's retelling the story of Dracula with furry characters. Heck yes!
